If
you want to do something in a short time then do it quicker. Einstein would
have figured it all out a lot sooner if he has just hurried up a little, and if
somebody had made Hitler move quicker, he may have just sailed around Britain
and moved straight on to America (after all, the Japanese did). Here is how you
may optimize your website quickly to make sure it is full of keywords and ready
to go.
Optimize Website with 12 keywords for each web page:
These
keywords are what are going to populate your Meta keywords tag. They are also
going to have to appear in the content of the page. Some of them should also
appear in places such as the URL or such as the Meta description tag.
But how do you get 12 keywords for every page quickly?
Start
with brainstorming words that would work for your entire site. In our example
we are going to use a pet grooming website. So the keywords that apply to all
the website would be things such as “Grooming”, “dog”, “cat”, “fur”, “cut”,
“low prices” etc.
Now
you need to put these in a list and next to each of them you need to write
their synonyms, so dog it would be “k9”, “puppy”, “pup”. As you can
see, you now have more keywords.
Getting
more keywords by creating long- tailed keywords
Then,
you take your list and you come up with some long tailed keywords using what
you just wrote. For our site it could be, “Dog grooming at low prices”. You
should come up with a few combinations as you can use them later.
Add
your new keywords to your homepage:
After all the keywords you have now created, they need to go into the homepage. They
need to go into the content and the Meta description tags, alt text on images,
etc. But, do not throw your list of keywords away as you can still use them.
Now move onto your other pages:
You
need to come up with five keywords that suit the page, and every page should
have at least one long-tailed keyword so that is a total of six (5 plus the
long tailed keyword). These words need to go into the Meta keywords tag and the
content, etc. However, there are still 6 keywords missing. These are taken from
the long list of keywords that you started with (from earlier). Cherry pick
some of them to make your final six for each page.
Cheat your way to getting five keywords:
In
the point above you were told to come up with five keywords for each page.
However, doing this takes time, and then you have to re-write the content and
so that all the keywords are present in there (or most of them at least). There
is a quicker way.
Find
a free online tool that is a word frequency checker. You copy and paste your
text into the tool and it tells you how many times you have used your words.
You can see if you have already used any keywords. If you have, then use them
as your keywords and you won’t have to add them into the content without a
re-write. Even if you see that you have only used 3 keywords, you now only need
to think up two more (so you are saving time).
Use
the tool to come up with double and triple words
Just
because a keyword is called a key-word, it does not mean it has to be just one
word. For example, “pet” is a keyword, but so is “pet grooming”, and “pet
grooming for dogs” is a long-tailed keyword. The frequency checker is going to
show you strings of words you have used more than once. So feel free to add
those as keywords too. Free SEO Tools for Websites
If
in doubt you should use your own business name
If
you are trying to cook up your website keywords for each page and you find yourself at
a loss for the final word. You should grab a thesaurus and find a similar word
or synonym. If you are stuck then use your business name as your keyword and
you are all done.
