1 Comment so far
Tweet
In the latest release of Microsoft windows, apps were made to access utilities features, that is just like programs in previous versions, the most obvious way to launch windows 8 apps is to go to start menu screen either from desktop "top right hand" corner or pressing windows button in keyboard, but it is not an easy way because there may be some programs that windows 8 does't get as apps. for that reason we're going to make a folder of all installed apps in windows 8.
the folder creation will be auto and you don't need to find one by one and paste in one folder. if you've installed an app and not appearing in windows 8 mode- will also appear there and you can open it-  by double clicking on it and running the app.
List of windows 8 apps
The above figure is the resultant folder which will you get after applying the trick here in this post.
let's ask ourself. why it is important if we can access apps at start menu screen, the answer is, it can be used for troubleshooting purpose. Let's start and complete the process to get the list of all apps in on folder.

Launch Windows 8 apps straight from Desktop:

Step-1: Right Click On Desktop, and select New and then shortcut. it's that simple. view the below picture.
creating shortcut in windows 8
Step-2: Now a windows will pop up, type the below link of code in the location box, and click on Next, Don't click on Browse.
Explorer Shell:AppsFolder

location box in windows8
Step-3: Once you click on Next, Then type a name for the shortcut, it can be anything you want, in my case, i will write My Windows 8 Apps.

Now whenever you will double click on that folder you will get all windows 8 apps installed on your PC.
And you can launch it from desktop anytime.

In today post we will learn how to protect PC from viruses, spyware and other unwanted potential software’s, these are called malwares (malicious software), which infect your PC without your knowledge.
Mostly viruses come from removable devices such as USB Flash drives, CD, DVD or it might install itself from an email or when you’re connected to internet and installing some app. Viruses can also be programed to run at unexpected time, not just when it’s installed on your PC without your knowledge.
Windows Defender is included in Windows 8 and helps keep malware and other unwanted softwares from infecting your PC.
Providing real-time protection. Windows Defender notifies you when malware tries to install itself or run on your own PC. It also notifies you when apps try to change important settings without your permission.
Providing anytime scanning options without running app. You can use Windows Defender to scan your PC for malware that might be installed on your PC, you can schedule scans on a regular basis, and to automatically remove (or make temporarily quarantine, move to chest) anything that is detected during a scan process.
When you use Windows Defender, it's important to have up-to-date definitions regarding app. Definitions are the files that act like an ever-growing encyclopedia of potential software threats. Windows Defender uses database of definitions to notify you of potential risks if it detects any malware. To help keep your definitions up to date, Windows Defender works with Windows Update to automatically install new definitions as they're released. You can also have Windows Defender check online for updated definitions before scanning or you can manually update it.

How to run windows Defender:

By default, windows defender doesn’t running, that’s why you have to open it.
Hover your mouse at the top left corner, and click on search and type “windows defender”.

Scanning PC:

Once windows defender opened. then you can scan your PC, you either select quick to scan memory and some C Drive System files, or custom where you can define folders to scan or full which will scan thoroughly your PC.

Updating Viruses definitions:

it's a good practice to update windows defender viruses definitions regularly. At the top of windows defender window you can use Update button to update your antivirus.

History:

The history Tab includes details about quarantined items (viruses that windows blocked but did't removed due to risk of system file infection), allowed items which are the programs that windows suspects but may not be the viruses infection. and all detected items includes all items that are either blocked or removed by windows defender.

Settings:

You can configure the way windows defender run on your PC, Scanning your PC, some advance and administrator features.
